Cherie Gough

Freelance Journalist | College Admissions Writing Coach

About Cherie

Hi, I’m Cherie Gough, a freelance writer specializing in food and the people who make its journey to the table possible. I focus on solutions-based journalism reporting on innovators and practical solutions to every day problems. Bylines in HuffPost, Edible San Diego, San Diego Family Magazine, Gluten-Free Forever.

Before turning my attention toward a freelance career, I spent 14 years teaching English and AVID in CA public schools. It’s a pleasure to pair my love for working with young people and practical knowledge of writing to help future leaders tell their stories on college applications using their authentic voices. I enjoy building relationships with my clients through active listening.

Life isn’t all about work.  When I’m not at my writer’s desk, I’m likely on the trail or beach, in my garden, or cooking up some family fun.
