Last summer, youth nationwide rose up as leaders despite personal and societal difficulties. To honor International Women’s Day on March 8, I’ve found local young women working tirelessly to create opportunities and shine their light during dark days. They honor veterans, combat racial disparity and create unique support systems for peers. I spoke to these role models about their inspiration, their work and their plans to continue making a difference in San Diego and beyond.
